When questioned about his understanding of Sharma's messages, particularly given his distinctive Mumbai-style language, Pant gave an honest answer. "I understand what he is saying on the ground. However, I don't understand much when it comes to off the field." He reflected on a humorous incident from IPL 2024 when he attempted to distract Virat Kohli from behind the sightscreen despite being banned for a match due to slow over-rate offenses. "It was one of the most important matches of the season for us and we needed to perform well. I couldn't play that match and was thinking what could I do from the outside," he added.
