Not a single ball has been bowled in the only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand. The players are still sitting in their hotel rooms. And, the reason for all this is rain. The first day of this Test match, which started on 9th September, was washed away by rain and there is suspense over how much play will be possible on the second day. However, the scene on the field on the second day was surprising. The trick that the groundsmen used to dry the field from the rain was a little different. For this, they dug up the wet parts of the midfield area. And, in its place, they were seen bringing dry parts from the net practice area and placing them there.
Groundsmen have tried different methods to dry the wet parts of the ground in the past as well. But, it has rarely been seen before as was seen in Greater Noida. Apart from digging the ground, the groundsmen were also seen using fans to dry the wet parts.
Not a good morning from Greater Noida! They have dug a part of the midwicket area and are trying to fix it with some dry patches of grass and soil.

Now, they are bringing dry grass patches to fill the dug area and on the other side they have brought fans to dry the damp patches. Teams are still in the hotel. 12pm is inspection time!#NZvAFG https://t.co/h201nuzRTQ pic.twitter.com/oMLl5eByuK
