Ugandan athlete Rebecca Cheptegei was burnt alive by her ex-boyfriend Dickson Ndiema earlier this month by sprinkling petrol on her. After which more than 75 percent of her body was burnt and she died during treatment. Rebecca Cheptegei was a long distance and marathon athlete. Rebecca Cheptegei also participated in the Paris Olympics. Now another news related to Rebecca's case has come to light. Her ex-boyfriend Dickson Ndiema has also died.
Athlete Rebecca Cheptegei and her ex-boyfriend Dickson Ndiema had been fighting over a piece of land for some time.
After which Dickson entered Rebecca Cheptegei's house in Kenya's western Trans-Nzoia County and attacked her. Dickson bought a jerrycan full of petrol, poured it on Cheptegei and set it on fire during the dispute. Dickson also got burnt in this incident. After which both of them were admitted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret city of Kenya. Where Dickson also died during treatment.Dickson Ndiema was also seriously injured in the incident. It is being said that about 30 percent of his body was burnt. According to reports, Dickson breathed his last on Monday at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital during treatment.
Rebecca Cheptegei was born on 22 February 1991 in Uganda. Rebecca Cheptegei was an athlete with athlete code 14413309. Cheptegei was racing since 2010. Rebecca has won a gold medal at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2022. Rebecca Cheptegei recently participated in the Paris Olympics. Cheptegei finished 44th in the marathon at the Paris Olympics.
