Athlete Rebecca Cheptegei and her ex-boyfriend Dickson Ndiema had been fighting over a piece of land for some time.

After which Dickson entered Rebecca Cheptegei's house in Kenya's western Trans-Nzoia County and attacked her. Dickson bought a jerrycan full of petrol, poured it on Cheptegei and set it on fire during the dispute. Dickson also got burnt in this incident. After which both of them were admitted to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret city of Kenya. Where Dickson also died during treatment.

Dickson Ndiema was also seriously injured in the incident. It is being said that about 30 percent of his body was burnt. According to reports, Dickson breathed his last on Monday at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital during treatment.
