During this time, a tragic incident has happened to Ruturaj Gaikwad, captain of the five-time champion franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Ruturaj Gaikwad is the captain of Team India C in the Duleep Trophy.

India C captain Ruturaj Gaikwad retired hurt on the second ball of the Duleep Trophy match against India B at the Gramin Vikas Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Thursday.
Coming to bat, Gaikwad hit a four off the first ball of India B pacer Mukesh Kumar but had to retire hurt on the next ball. It is not clear why the Maharashtra batsman had to leave the field. Madhya Pradesh's Rajat Patidar then replaced Gaikwad.In the previous round in Anantapur, Gaikwad's team had pulled off a thrilling win over India D. Chasing a target of 236 in a close encounter, Gaikwad hit a quickfire 46 off 48 balls for India C. However, a quick collapse put them in trouble before Manav Suthar and Abhishek Porel led the team to victory.
Rituraj made his first-class debut for Maharashtra in October 2016 and has since scored over 2000 runs, including six centuries and 10 half-centuries.Chennai Super Kings captain Rituraj Gaikwad has had intermittent appearances in the red-ball in recent months. The Chennai Super Kings captain was included in the Indian Test squad for the South Africa tour last December but was ruled out due to a ring finger injury. The 27-year-old has not returned to Team India's Test squad since then.
Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal-led India A are facing Shreyas Iyer's India D in the second match of the Duleep Trophy being played at the main ground of Anantapur Cricket Ground.
India D won the toss and decided to bowl against India A.
