Team India is currently at the top of the World Test Championship cycle but till now Team India has not qualified for the final (WTC Final 2025) match of the World Test Championship. Due to which it is believed that to make up for the lack of experience in Test cricket in the opening slot, head coach Gautam Gambhir can ask Virat Kohli to open with Rohit Sharma.

Rohit-Kohli won the T20 World Cup for Team India as openers

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were playing as openers for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2024. Both these legendary players played as openers for the first time in an ICC event and Team India became the champion in it. After which it is believed that now Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir can ask Virat and Rohit to open together in Test cricket as well, but it will be worth seeing whether Rohit-Virat play the role of opening for Team India in Test cricket like T20 cricket or not?

Rohit can come with this playing 11 in the first test match

In the first test match against Bangladesh at Chennai ground, captain Rohit Sharma can choose himself and Yashasvi as openers in Team India's playing 11. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli can get a chance for number 3 and 4.

Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul can be included in the playing 11 for 5 and 6. Captain Rohit Sharma can give chance to Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav as spinners, while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj can also represent Team India's playing 11 as fast bowlers.
