Gloucestershire team has created history in England's league T20 Blast. This team has won the title for the first time in 22 years. Gloucestershire could never win the T20 Blast trophy in this domestic league which started in 2002. Under the captaincy of Jack Taylor, the team won this title for the first time by defeating Somerset by 8 wickets in the final match held on 14 September. Somerset scored 124 runs while batting first, which Gloucestershire chased in just 15 overs. Left-arm fast bowler Matt Taylor was the hero of this match, who took 3 wickets for just 18 runs in 4 overs.
To win the T20 Blast title for the first time in 22 years, Gloucestershire won two matches in a single day. In the semi-final match held on 14 September, they first defeated Sussex badly. Then in the final held in the evening, they registered a one-sided victory against Somerset. Sussex won the toss and chose to bat first, but the entire team collapsed at a score of 106 runs.

Gloucestershire chased this target in just 13.4 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. In this match, David Payne was chosen as the Player of the Match for his tremendous bowling. He took 1 wicket for just 9 runs in 4 overs. Matt Taylor took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 3 overs.
Gloucestershire also played the final match against Somerset in the evening. In this match, the team's captain Jack Taylor won the toss and chose to bowl first and this decision proved to be a boon. The team's bowlers were in form. They stopped the Somerset batsmen at 124 runs. David Payne and Matt Taylor shone once again and forced the Somerset batsmen to kneel down.

While Payne took 3 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs, Taylor took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. The remaining task was completed by the batsmen. Both the team's openers Miles Hammond and Cameron Bancroft made the match one-sided by hitting fifties.
With this, Gloucestershire won the title by chasing the easy target in just 15 overs.
