When everything was going well for the Shreyas Iyer-led India D team in the Duleep Trophy, there was a twist in the story. What happened was that India D, chasing the target of 488 runs given by India A, had scored 102 runs at the loss of 1 wicket. At this time, the 30th over of India D's second innings was going on, which was being bowled by Shams Mulani. Now what happened was that Yash Dubey got run out on the fourth ball of this over. But, the way he got run out was absolutely surprising.
Yash Dubey was playing on 37 runs when he was run out.
But how did this happen? India D batsman Ricky Bhui faced the fourth ball of Shams Mulani who was bowling the 30th over in the second innings. He played a straight shot to steal a single. Yash Dubey, standing at the non-striker, was also about to run to take a run when the ball coming from the front hit his bat and the direction of the straight ball changed. The ball hit Yash Dubey's bat and headed towards the wicket, where Shams Mulani showed amazing presence of mind. Some quick thinking, presence of mind & luck helped India A break the 100-run stand between Yash Dubey & Ricky Bhui
