Gautam Gambhir was appointed the head coach of the Indian cricket team by the management of the Board of Control for Cricket in India just after the T20 World Cup. He took charge from the opening T20 series against Sri Lanka. Currently, Gautam Gambhir is involved in the preparation of the two-match Test series against Bangladesh with the Indian team.

Former Indian fast bowler Dodda Ganesh was associated with the team as the head coach by the Kenya Cricket Board on 14 August 2024.

As per reports, the executive board of Cricket Kenya said Ganesh's appointment was made irregularly.

The Executive Board of the Kenya Cricket Board passed a resolution on 28 August 2024 and under that it was decided that the appointment of Dodda Ganesh should be declared invalid.
In the resolution issued by the cricket board, it was said that the appointment of Dodda Ganesh and Manoj Patel is cancelled with immediate effect. Along with this, they are ordered not to hold any kind of meeting or interaction with the team.Dodda Ganesh's international career proved to be very ordinary. He played only 4 Test matches for the Indian team and was successful in taking only 5 wickets in them. Apart from this, he was able to take only one wicket in his only ODI match. But his domestic career was very brilliant and he took 365 wickets in 104 first class matches, while in 89 List A matches, he has 128 wickets in his name with an economy of 4.79.
