Former Pakistani cricketer Moin Khan has pleaded with the great cricketers of India. He appealed to legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Kapil Dev to convince BCCI regarding the Champions Trophy. The 2025 Champions Trophy is to be hosted by Pakistan. For this, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also submitted a draft of the schedule to the ICC. However, the Indian Board has not yet clarified whether Team India will be a part of this tournament or not.
Moin Khan has appealed to the former cricketers of India. In an interview with Pakistani media, he said, "All the former cricketers of India like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev and Rahul Dev should advise their cricket board.
Ask them to keep politics and cricket separate. Cricket should not stop due to political differences. Fans would love to see India and Pakistan playing. This will benefit Pakistan as well as the entire cricket world."Moin Khan said two things at the same time. First he pleaded with the Indian cricketers and then immediately threatened them. The former Pakistani wicketkeeper-batsman advised India to stick to its promises with the ICC.
He warned the BCCI that if Team India does not come to Pakistan, then the PCB will also not want its players in India in future.Preparations for the Champions Trophy are in full swing in Pakistan. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is busy getting all the stadiums repaired and upgraded. For this, Rs 1280 crore has been released by the board. At the same time, some time ago, the ICC had released a fund of 70 million dollars for the Champions Trophy. However, amid these preparations, the stand of the BCCI is not clear yet. Not only this, now former BCCI secretary Jay Shah has also sat on the post of ICC Chairman.
In such a situation, a hybrid model can also be expected. The reason for the statement given by Moin Khan regarding his son Azam Khan is also in the headlines. For the first time, he spoke openly about his son and made serious allegations against the PCB. He said that Azam Khan was the first choice in the 2024 T20 World Cup but was dropped after the defeat against America. This lowered the morale of young Azam. Moin also accused former PCB chairman Rameez Raja and said that Azam Khan was dropped because of him in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
