Gautam Gambhir is not like Rahul Dravid, coaching staff's thinking is different... Why did Rohit Sharma say this before Chennai Test?

The Test series between India and Bangladesh is starting from 19th September. This will be the first Test series of the new coach Gautam Gambhir and his support staff with Team India. Team India last played Test cricket in February-March under the supervision of former coach Rahul Dravid and now the new series will be played with a changed support staff.

Obviously there will be a change in thinking and methods and just before the start of the series, captain Rohit Sharma was asked about this change and he admitted that the thinking of Dravid and Gambhir as well as his support staff is completely different but he has not faced any problem.

The first match will be played at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium from Thursday. Team India has been stationed at Chepauk for the last 4 days to prepare for this test and after Tuesday's training session, captain Rohit spoke to the media.

In this press conference, Rohit was asked questions ranging from strategy to playing eleven and selection of some special players. Also, a question was asked about the difference in thinking of the old and new coaching staff and coordination with them, on which the Indian captain spoke openly.

Played a lot of cricket with Gambhir-Nair

Rohit, who took over the captaincy of Team India after Rahul Dravid became the coach and won the last T20 World Cup with him, said that he is completely different from Gautam Gambhir and his understanding is different.

Rohit said that he played a lot of cricket with Gautam Gambhir and assistant coach Abhishek Nair and knows them well, while he played tough cricket with former South African pacer and new bowling coach Morne Morkel. Although Rohit does not have much experience with former Netherlands captain and team assistant coach Ryan Tendoshkate, but both of them got a chance to understand each other during the ODI series on the Sri Lanka tour.

No problem with the coaching staff

37-year-old Indian captain Rohit cited his long cricket career and said that he has played with many different coaches and hence knows that everyone's perspective is different.

He described the methods of Dravid, Paras Mahambre and Vikram Rathod as different from the current support staff and said that the team knows that they have to adapt themselves according to the thinking and perspective of the new staff. The Indian captain also said in clear words that there is no problem between the coaching staff and the team and so far everything has been fine.
