The Delhi Capitals (DC) captain lashed out at a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who claimed that Pant had approached RCB in hopes of securing a leadership role in the franchise.
The rumors originated from a post by an X user, who alleged that Pant had sought a leadership opportunity with RCB, but his request was reportedly turned down by the team management.
According to the user, Virat Kohli, the former RCB skipper and a dominant figure in the franchise, was not in favor of Pant joining the team.
Pant was quick to shut down these claims. In a strongly-worded post, the cricketer expressed his frustration at the constant spread of misinformation on social media, urging fans to be more responsible before sharing baseless rumors.
Taking to his X account, Pant directly addressed the situation.
"Fake news . Why do you guys spread so much fake news on social media.
Be sensible guys so bad . Don't create untrustworthy environment for no reason. It's not the first time and won't be last but I had to put this out .please always re check with your so called sources. Everyday it's becoming worst . Rest it's upto you guys . It's wasn't just for you it's for a lot for people who is spreading misinformation. Tc," the tweet read.
