Bangladesh cricket fan Tiger Robi has revealed that he was hospitalized on September 27 due to health issues on Day 1 of the second and final Test against India. He was not beaten by local fans at the Green Park stadium.

His condition deteriorated due to dehydration. Robi said that he needed urgent medical assistance because of the intense heat and dehydration.

Robi hailed Kanpur police for taking him to the hospital. Earlier, police had denied reports that he was man handled by locals.

“I suddenly fell ill and the police took me to the hospital for treatment. I am feeling better. My name is Robi and I am from Bangladesh,” he said.

Robi travels to different parts of the world to support Bangladesh. He was also present during the first Test against India in Chennai.

Earlier, Robi was seen waving the Bangladesh flag during the morning session of the second Test before the heat and dehydration impacted his health.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first. The visitors were 107/3 when the play was called off due to persistent rain.

India are leading 1-0, having won the opening game by 280 runs.
