Earlier, a few media reports had claimed that Shami had suffered a setback in his rehabilitation while recovering from a knee injury. According to the reports he had a swollen knee and could have seen him miss the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, according to Shami, he can still be available for the BGT as India look to extend their dominant run in the red-ball format against the Aussies.   Shami has not played for India since the ODI World Cup final against Australia last November and has been on the sidelines ever since. The injury also forced him to miss out on the Indian Premier League (IPL) season for the Gujarat Titans.
