Delhi: Pakistan cricket team's star spinner Usman Qadir has announced his retirement from cricket. Usman mainly played T20 cricket for Pakistan and was out of the team for some time, after which he decided to retire.

Sharing the post on social media, he said, “Today I am announcing my retirement from Pakistan cricket team. This journey has been amazing and it is a matter of pride for me to play for my country.

I am grateful to my fellow players and coaches who always supported me. I will try to carry forward my father's legacy.”

It is noteworthy that Usman Qadir is the son of Pakistan's great spinner Abdul Qadir. Abdul was famous all over the world for his spin bowling and he troubled many batsmen with his balls. Son Usman also followed his father's footsteps and chose spin bowling and played cricket for Pakistan.

International cricket career of Usman Qadir

31-year-old Usman made his debut for Pakistan in 2020.

He played one ODI and 25 T20 matches, in which he took one wicket in ODI and 31 wickets in T20. The leg spinner played his last match in October 2023. Usman's economy rate in T20 was 7.95 and he also took four wickets once.
