While trying to stop South African captain Laura Woolward's shot, the ball hit James' jaw and she started groaning in pain. The incident occurred in the second over of the innings when Woolward hit a straight shot towards the bowler. James put his hand to stop the ball but the ball passed between his hands and hit his jaw, due to which the physio had to come to the field.

After the ball hit her jaw, her jaw was swollen, so she bowled just one ball and went out of the field. His over was completed by Kiana Joseph. ICC has also shared the video of this incident on social media which you can see below.
