Latest News :- New Zealand defeated India by 58 runs in the ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup series. The 9th ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup series is going on in the United Arab Emirates. The Indian team, placed in the 'A' category, faced New Zealand in its first league match. Harmanpreet Kaur led the Indian team in this match which started at 7.30 pm in Dubai.

The Indian team included Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodriguez, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy, Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, Asha Chopna, Renuka Thakur Singh.

The New Zealand team included Susie Bates, Georgia Plimmer, Amelia Kerr, Sophie Devlin, Brooke Halliday, Maddy Green, Isabella Case, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Leah Tahuhu and Eden Carson.

New Zealand won the toss and decided to bat first. Openers Susie Bates and Georgia Plimmer together scored a leisurely 61 runs. Suzy Bates was caught by Shreyanka and Georgia Smriti. Next captain Sophie Devine scored 57 runs in 36 balls. Amelia Kerr 13, Brooke Halliday 16, Maddy Green 5 runs, New Zealand scored a total of 160 runs.

Sophie Devine remained not out.

Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma were the openers in the Indian team which entered the field with a target of 161 runs. But Shefali was disappointingly out for 2 runs in the very beginning. Smriti Mandanna remained ahead by scoring 12 runs. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur 15, Jemimah Rodrigues 13, Richa Ghosh 12, Deepti Sharma 13 wickets fell continuously, in the 19th over the Indian team's score was only 102 runs at the loss of 10 wickets. In this way New Zealand won by 58 runs.

Sophie Devine remained not out.
