India and Bangladesh will play the first T20I of the three-match series on October 6. The contest will be played in Gwalior, and before the action, the Bangladesh players have landed themselves in controversy.

According to PTI, the cricketers didn’t go to Moti Masjid for Friday players and instead offered namaz at the hotel.

Gwalior Zone Inspector General Arvind Saxena said that security arrangements were in place, but the Bangladesh team didn’t turn up. The mosque is 3 km from the hotel where the visiting team is residing.

“The security was beefed up but the team didn’t turn up. No group had given call to stop them from visiting the mosque,” he said.

The right-wing groups have called for a bandh on the match day to protest the alleged violence against Hindus in Bangladesh since Sheikh Hasina’s government was removed.

Saxena further said that  Shahar Qazi went to Bangladesh’s team hotel and led the Friday players.

Over 2,500 police personnel have been deployed to guard the first T20I in Gwalior.
