Pakistan player taken to hospital after falling ill in Multan Test against England

Pakistan leg spinner Abrar Ahmed was admitted to hospital after falling ill during the first Test against England at Multan Cricket Stadium. He bowled 34 overs on Day 3 but didn’t take the field on Day 4 after complaining of high fever and body aches.

According to ESPNCricinfo, he was taken to the hospital for tests. He didn’t have a good outing with the ball, conceding 174 runs from his 35 overs.

Pakistan captain Shan Masood used seven bowlers, but England posted 823/7d after the Men in Green scored 556 in the first innings.

Harry Brook (317) and Joe Root (262) added 454 runs, with the former becoming the sixth England batter to score a triple hundred.

After taking a lead of 257 runs, England’s bowlers took 6 wickets of Pakistan, and the hosts ended Day 4 at 152, still trailing by 115 runs in the second innings.

Abdullah Shafique (0), Saim Ayub (25), Shan Masood (11), Babar Azam (5), Saud Shakeel (29) and Mohammad Rizwan (10) failed with the bat. Gus Atkinson (2/28) and Brydon Carse (2/39) bowled well against the home team.
