Pakistan are underperforming across formats in international cricket. The most recent defeat against England in the first Test has led to criticism. This loss forced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to change the men’s selection committee. Just hours after the defeat, the apex body of Pakistan cricket included four new voting members, including legendary umpire Aleem Dar.

Pakistan haven’t won a Test match at home for a long time. The move to revamp the decision makers was anticipated. Aleem Dar, Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali, and Hassan Cheema were added only an hour after Pakistan’s lost the Multan Test by an innings and 47 runs.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed that the following members have been added to the men’s national selection committee as voting members: Aleem Dar, Aqib Javed, Azhar Ali and Hassan Cheema,” the PCB statement read.

Aleem Dar is one of the finest umpires in cricket history. He officiated in 132 Test matches, 236 ODIs, and 69 T20 T20Is, making him one of the longest serving umpires. He won the ICC Umpire of the Year award three times.
