India National Cricket Team player Rishabh Pant asked fans whether he would attract bids from franchises if he decides to enter the mega auction before IPL 2025. The southpaw has been with the Delhi Capitals since his debut in 2016 and was appointed their captain in 2021.

“If go to the auction. Will I be sold or not, and for how much ??”

Pant is a key player in the side, and his tweet could shock many. He played in IPL 2024 after missing the previous season due to injuries sustained in a car accident in December 2022.

Rishabh scored 446 runs in 13 innings at an average of 40.54. However, Delhi finished sixth in the standings with seven victories and as many defeats.

DC co-owner Parth Jindal confirmed that the franchise would retain Rishabh Pant. He added that Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abhishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, and Khaleel Ahmed are being considered for retentions.

A franchise can retain five capped and two uncapped players.

“We have good players, and some of them will be retained. Rishabh Pant will play for the franchise, and we will make the decision after discussing it with GMR and our director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly.

“Axar Patel, Triston Stubbs, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Kuldeep Yadav, Abishek Porel, Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed will also be looked at before the auction,’ he added.

DC are among the three teams (RCB and PBKS) that have not won the IPL despite being part of the tournament from its inception.
