Pakistan have become a laughing stock in international cricket. The neer ending failures at home and the below-par performances in overseas series have stunned everyone. Some of the big names are worried about what is happening in Pakistan when it comes cricket.
India National Cricket Team’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently highlighted the glorious past of Pakistan in cricket and even opened on the issues, which are hampering the development of the sport in the country.
Kevin Pietersen, who has fond memories of Pakistan, revealed the reasons behind the collapse of cricket in the Asian country.
He played in the Pakistan Super League for a few seasons and found that training standards were not upto the mark.
Kevin was reacting to social media post of former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur.
“Just a few thoughts as a follower of Pakistan cricket! 1.The players are very very skilled and are the right one’s. 2.The inconsistency around selection, environment and administration plays a role in team morale, give the players structure and they will perform!
“3.The vile rhetoric from media and media driven agendas do not help! 4.The promotion of players by player agents or media makes the player sometimes think he is way more important than he is in reality creating a false view! 5.Playing for Pakistan should be the best time ever,” Mickey Arthur wrote on X.
Kevin Pietersen responded to Arthur’s statement.
“From my time playing the PSL, the players don’t train properly and there’s way too much emotion involved in the win or loss. No consistency off the field, so how do you expect it on the field? And I agree, the talent is UNREAL.”
Pakistan recently lost to England in the first Test against England. Despite scoring more than 500 runs, the home team allowed the rivals to post more than 800 runs.
The Shan Masood-led team were bowled for 220 in their second innings, giving England a win by an innings and 47 runs.
