Players Auction i.e. Indian Premier League. Bidding is held every season to buy players in India's famous T20 league, IPL, about which cricket fans are also very excited. Like every year, this time too this auction will take place but there is still one or two months left for it. There is going to be an auction even before the IPL auction, which is starting from today, Sunday 13th October. This is the player auction of Hockey India League. Yes, in this Indian Hockey League which is returning after almost 7 years, the top hockey players from all over the world are going to be auctioned and there is excitement among the hockey fans regarding this.
After the success of the Indian hockey team in winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics, enthusiasm about this game has again returned in the country. In such a situation, the announcement of the resumption of the Hockey India League has filled the hockey lovers with joy and has increased the excitement by starting the players auction like the IPL. What is special in the first players auction of the new era Hockey India League, let us tell you in a few points-
Earlier, 5 seasons of Hockey India League were organized and then only men's teams were a part of it. Now, for the first time in the new league, a women's tournament is also being organized and both these tournaments will continue to be organized together. The only difference is that 8 men's teams will participate, while 6 women's teams will participate.
The players auction of Hockey India League will start from 13th October and it will continue for 3 days i.e. till 15th October. This auction being organized by Hockey India will be organized in a five star hotel in New Delhi. It will start on October 13 at 2.30 pm. Men's auction will be held on 13th and 14th, while female players will be auctioned on 15th.
Just as players have different base prices in IPL, similarly here too the base prices are fixed. These base prices are 2 lakh, 5 lakh and 10 lakh. Players who registered for the auction had the freedom to decide their base price. In IPL, the base price of an uncapped player is Rs 20 lakh and that of a capped player is Rs 50 lakh, while the maximum base price is Rs 2 crore.
Each team will have Rs 4-4 crore for the auction and from this it will have to prepare a squad of 24-24 players, in which 16 can be Indians and only 8 can be foreigners. There should also be at least 4 under-21 players among the 16 Indians.
The men's teams are from 8 different cities. These are- Delhi (SG Sports-Entertainment), Chennai (Charles Group), Lucknow (Yadu Sports), Kolkata (Shrachi Group), Odisha (Vedanta), Hyderabad (Resolute Sports), Ranchi (Navoyam- Team Gonasika, Visakhapatnam base). and Punjab (JSW Sports)
6 women's teams - Delhi (SG Sports-Entertainment), Kolkata (Shrachi Group), Odisha (Navoyam), Haryana (JSW Sports). Apart from this, the names of 2 more teams are yet to be approved.
