Pakistan lost the first test badly in Multan. Now it is the turn to play the second test. The second test against England is also in Multan, where you will not be surprised if Babar Azam is not seen in the Pakistan team. Because, it's going to happen. There is news that Pakistan's new selection committee has made up its mind to drop Babar Azam from the second test match. The second Test between Pakistan and England is starting from October 15 in Multan.

Threat to Babar Azam's place

Pakistan's new selection committee has held two meetings so far before selecting the team for the second test. The first meeting was held in Lahore last Friday after they lost the first test. The second meeting was held in Multan last Saturday. Apart from all the members of the new selection committee, Test team captain Shan Masood and head coach Jason Gillespie were also present in the meeting held in Multan. The main issue of this meeting was Babar Azam. According to the information received, many members were seen speaking in favor of Babar Azam in the meeting. But most of the people were seen advocating for not playing him in the second test.

Babar's bad form became a problem for everyone.

Babar Azam's position in Pakistan's Test team is in trouble due to his poor form. Babar's form has been shaky for the last two years. If we talk only from the year 2023 till now, he has scored runs at an average of only 21 in 9 tests. Leave alone a century, Babar has not scored a single half-century in Test cricket since December 2022. Even in the current series, in the first test against England, Babar could score only 35 runs in 2 innings on the flat pitch of Multan.

Will Babar play in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy?

Now the question is that if Babar Azam does not become a part of the second test, will he be seen playing in the domestic tournament Quaid-e-Azam? Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is starting from 20th October. Babar Azam last played first class cricket in 2019.

The second Test between Pakistan and England is starting from 15 October. Earlier in Multan, England had won the first Test by an innings and 47 runs, which was Pakistan's sixth consecutive Test defeat. Pakistan's poor condition on the Test pitch is also affecting its WTC points table.
