The three-match Test series between India and New Zealand is going to start from October 16. Team India recently made a clean sweep of Bangladesh in the test series. Now she will face New Zealand at home. The first match of the series will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Before this match, Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir held a press conference and gave a big statement on the batting approach of his players.

There will be no change in the team's batting approach

Gautam Gambhir has made it clear before the New Zealand series that he will not control his batsmen in Test cricket. He believes that the more risk is taken, the greater will be the benefit. Let us tell you, recently Team India had scored very fast runs in the Test against Bangladesh, due to which they won the Kanpur Test match by seven wickets even after not a single ball was bowled for two days due to rain. If Gambhir is to be believed, Team India will continue playing like this in future also.

Gautam Gambhir gave a big statement

Gambhir said, 'Why do we need to control our batsmen? If he can play natural cricket, if he can score 400 to 500 runs in a day then what is wrong in it. We will continue with the attitude of 'the greater the risk, the greater the return, the greater the risk, the greater the possibility of failure'. There will be a day when our team gets out for 100 runs but we will have to accept it. We will continue to support our players to play high-risk cricket. We want to move ahead in this manner and achieve results no matter what the circumstances.

What kind of Team India does Gambhir want?

Gautam Gambhir further said, 'I had said in Chennai that we want a team which can score 400 runs in a day and can draw the match by batting for two days. This is called moving forward. This is called adjusting to circumstances. This is test cricket. If you always remain on the same path then you cannot move forward.

He said, 'There are many batsmen in our team who can bat for two days. Certainly our first goal will be to win the match. If such a situation arises that we have to play to draw the match, then this will be the second or third option for us.

Will face tough challenge from New Zealand team

Gambhir admitted that the New Zealand team can present a tough challenge to him in this series but he will leave no stone unturned to achieve a favorable result. He said, 'New Zealand will present a completely different challenge. We know they have a very good team and they have some very good players. They have players who can hurt us, so these three test matches will be a tough challenge. Whether it is New Zealand or Australia, we want to win every match for our country. We are not thinking ahead right now. Right now our focus is only on the series against New Zealand.
