It has been 12 years since Irfan Pathan retired from Team India. He played his last match for the country in 2012 itself. But, it is good to see that even after 12 years of retirement, both his class and the art of bowling are still alive. Because, if this had not happened then even 12 runs would not have been defended from him in the last over on the Legends League cricket pitch. Irfan not only saved those runs in the last over but also won the match for the team. Not only this, for the way he accomplished this task, he was also chosen Player of the Match.

Irfan Pathan's answer is no

Did nothing happen in the match played between Konark Surya Orissa and TOM Hyderabad on the evening of 14 October? Konark Surya team, captained by Irfan Pathan, batted first and scored 156 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. In this, Irfan contributed unbeaten 49 runs in 35 balls with the bat. He was the most successful batsman of his team. Now TOM Hyderabad had a target of 157 runs, chasing which they remained just one run away from victory. The reason behind their distance from the target was Irfan Pathan, who did not allow their desire of victory to be fulfilled.

Won the match by saving 12 runs in the last over.

When the game reached the last over, realizing the seriousness of the match, captain Irfan Pathan decided to bowl on his own. Earlier in the match, Irfan had not bowled a single over. He was going to bowl the first over. He had the challenge of defending 12 runs. He gave 3 runs on the first 2 balls. After this, a six was hit on the third ball of Irfan's over and almost everyone assumed that Hyderabad had now won the match. But then Irfan brought a twist in the story.

He took a wicket on his next i.e. the fourth ball of the over. Now Hyderabad had to score 3 runs on the last 2 balls. The match was still in the bag of the opposite team. Irfan Pathan had to take him out from there and hand him over to his team. He accomplished this work very well. Irfan did this by giving a single on the 5th ball of the over and then not giving any run on the last ball. After doing this, it seemed as if there was no limit to his happiness.
