The mega auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is going to happen soon and as this mega auction is getting closer, the interest of the fans is increasing. This time there are many star players who can be seen in the auction and one of them is experienced batsman Rohit Sharma. 37-year-old Rohit Sharma was removed from the captaincy of Mumbai Indians after the command was handed over to Hardik Pandya in 2024.
This sparked many rumors that Rohit may give his name in the mega auction of IPL 2025. Recently, a video is also going viral on social media in which it can be seen that India's experienced all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin is discussing the possible price that Rohit will get in the auction.
Ashwin said that if any franchise wants to buy Rohit Sharma in the tournament, it will have to set aside Rs 20 crore for him. Rohit has led MI to five IPL titles, making them the joint most successful team in the tournament. Responding to a fan asking Rohit Sharma to buy from RCB, Ashwin said, “If you want to sign Rohit Sharma, you will have to keep Rs 20 crore with you. Rs 20 crore will disappear there.”
Recently, reports emerged of Royal Challengers Bangalore being interested in acquiring the services of Rohit Sharma. Reacting to this rumour, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers came forward and explained how absurd these rumors are. De Villiers said in a video on his YouTube channel, “I almost laughed at Rohit's comment. It would be a big story if Rohit moved from Mumbai Indians to RCB. Wow! Imagine the headlines.
