It is known that the England cricket team has started the Pakistan tour with a spectacular victory. The first match of the three-Test series was played at Multan Stadium, where England registered a big victory by defeating Pakistan by an innings and 47 runs. This defeat is being considered as one of the most shameful defeats in the history of Pakistan's cricket. Besides, a disappointing record has also been added to Pakistan's name in Test cricket, which had not been achieved by any team in the 147 years of Test history.
Pakistan team had made a strong start by scoring 556 runs in its first innings. A draw was expected for the first three and a half days of the match, but in the last session of the fourth day, the game took an unbelievable turn and Pakistan had to suffer a crushing defeat. This is the first time in the history of Test cricket that a team has scored more than 500 runs in its first innings and yet lost the match.
Sri Lanka had scored 952 runs at the loss of 6 wickets against India in Colombo in 1997. And this is the biggest score made by any team in an innings in Test history.
England performed brilliantly in the first Test match against Pakistan in Multan, where the team made its highest Test score thanks to Harry Brook's triple century and Joe Root's double century. England declared their innings after scoring 823 runs for 7 wickets, due to which they managed to leave behind Pakistan's score of 556 runs.
