Even though Virat Kohli recorded his 8th IPL century that put smiles on the faces of the fans, he took 67 balls to do so - which is the joint-slowest century in IPL history, along with Manish Pandey's effort from 2009. And that was a cause of a significant amount of trolling and scrutiny of the RCB legend. Batting through the innings, Virat Kohli scored 113* runs in 72 balls against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur. The pitch wasn't the easiest to bat during RCB's innings, after they were inserted to bat first by Sanju Samson, the RR captain. Kohli reached his three-figure milestone in 67 balls - he took 10 balls to score his last 13 runs.
After a cracking start in the powerplay, he slowed down, then picked up pace, then again slowed down as he neared his century. After reaching the milestone, for three fours in the last over, but that still took RCB to a total of 183, which RR are very likely going to chase down with a couple of overs to go as they are 145/1 in 14 overs courtesy of Jos Buttler and Samson's pyrotechnics. That RCB lost only three wickets and yet managed to get to a par score only was questionable despite Kohli batting through the innings. Junaid Khan, who dismissed Kohli during the white-ball series in India in 2013, took to Twitter to mock the RCB opener, congratulating him for the slowest IPL century.
To this, Indians hit back by trolling the Pakistani pacer back.
