Unfortunately for Mumbai Indians, Pandya couldn't make the most of the opportunity and ended up hitting the ball straight to the square leg fielder, Jake Fraser-McGurk, who took a straightforward catch. Unfortunately for Nortje, his bowling figures suffered, ending at 2 for 65 in 4 overs. Shepherd's contribution came after strong performances from Rohit Sharma (49 off 27 balls), Ishan Kishan (42 off 23 balls), Hardik Pandya (39 off 30 balls), and Tim David (45 not out off 21 balls, including 2 fours and 4 sixes).
