Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians' batter Romario Shepherd stole the show by scoring an impressive 32 runs in the final over.
His explosive innings came off Anrich Nortje's bowling and included four sixes and two fours.
Shepherd's quickfire 39 not out off just 10 balls propelled Mumbai Indians to a formidable total of 234 for 5, their highest at the Wankhede Stadium in this IPL season. Unfortunately for Nortje, his bowling figures suffered, ending at 2 for 65 in 4 overs.
Shepherd's contribution came after strong performances from Rohit Sharma (49 off 27 balls), Ishan Kishan (42 off 23 balls), Hardik Pandya (39 off 30 balls), and Tim David (45 not out off 21 balls, including 2 fours and 4 sixes). However, it was a disappointing return for Suryakumar Yadav, who was dismissed without scoring in his first game since mid-December last year.
Despite Yadav's early dismissal, David's aggressive batting and Shepherd's late onslaught ensured Mumbai Indians posted a formidable total.
