There have been many great openers in world cricket but there is only one who has changed the opening in Test cricket - Virender Sehwag. Even before the advent of T20 cricket, Sehwag surprised people in Test cricket too by making batting at a strike rate of 100 his habit. Sehwag, who played 104 test matches for Team India, played his last test in March 2013. (Photo: AFP)
Even after almost 11 and a half years of his last Test match, a special record still remains and this is that of the Indian batsman who has hit the most sixes in Test cricket. Sehwag had hit 91 sixes in his 104 Test match career. (Photo: AFP)
Former captain MS Dhoni could have broken his record but he retired after hitting 78 sixes in 90 Tests. Now the current captain Rohit Sharma is closest to this, who has hit 88 sixes in 62 Tests and eventually this record of his will be broken. (Photo: PTI)
Sehwag scored 8586 runs in his 104 Test matches, in which his average was 49.34 and he scored 23 centuries and 32 half-centuries with his bat. In 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs with the help of 15 centuries and in 19 T20s, he scored 394 runs at a strike rate of 145. (Photo: AFP)
