The Nepal team that went on the USA tour has won the 3-match T20 series. Nepal won the second match of the series in the super over and took an unassailable lead of 2-0. Nepal won the Super Over by a player whose entire childhood was spent in India. That player also got addicted to cricket in India. And, who left India and went to Nepal 11 years ago. We are talking about all-rounder Sompal Kami, who has led Nepal to victory due to his amazing performance in the Super Over.
Sompal Kami is originally from Nepal. He belongs to Gulmi of western Nepal. When he was young, his parents took him to Punjab in India. While living in India, Sompal played many school and club cricket tournaments. But then, with the aim of giving a new direction to his career, he again went to Nepal in 2013 at the age of 17. Sompal made his debut for Nepal in 2014 and since then has become a strong pillar of the team, an example of which he gave with his performance against USA.
The second T20 between Nepal and USA was decided in the super over. Earlier, both the teams scored 170-170 runs after 20-20 overs of play. Batting first, thanks to Kushal Bhurtel's unbeaten 92 runs, Nepal had scored 170 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. After that USA also scored 170 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. For USA, wicketkeeper Andrew Goose played the highest innings of 62 runs.
USA batted first in the Super Over, where the number of runs that should have been scored were not scored. The situation became so bad that USA could not even play the entire Super Over, losing 2 wickets for 2 runs in the first 4 balls. Sompal Kami took both these wickets, due to which the USA team was in trouble.
Nepal got an easy target of scoring 3 runs. USA tried to stop Nepal from winning the Super Over by handing the ball to its most experienced bowler Saurabh Netrawalkar but he failed.
