In the latest ICC Test All-Rounder Rankings, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin held on to the top two spots, solidifying their status as the best all-rounders in the game.
Both players were in good form with the ball against the Kiwis, although their batting performances left a lot to be desired. Despite not playing in the recent Test series against Bangladesh as well as the first Test IND vs NZ Test match, Axar Patel remained steady in seventh position in the latest rankings. However, it remains to be seen if his continued exclusion from the national team will impact his rankings next week. Top Indian All-Rounders in ICC Test All-Rounder Rankings
Player Rating Career Best Overall Rank
Ravindra Jadeja 442 475 1
Ravichandran Ashwin 335 492 2
Axar Patel 253 316 7
Kuldeep Yadav 97 102 36
Jasprit Bumrah 94 102 37
Shardul Thakur 93 179 38
Mohammed Siraj 37 97 71
Akash Deep 28 28 80
As for the overall rankings, every single Indian all-rounder in the top 100 suffered a drop in their ratings. One of the biggest downgrades was for Jasprit Bumrah. The pacer, who holds the No. 1 position in the ICC Test bowling rankings, dropped two spots to 37th place in the rankings. This has to do with his dismal performances with the bat, as he scored just one run in two innings in the first Test match against New Zealand. Kuldeep Yadav, who rose in the Test bowling rankings, held his position at 36th place despite failing to hit double digits with the bat against the Kiwis. Mohammed Siraj's all-around poor performances in the recent Test matches have seen him drop four spots further to a dismal 71st place in the rankings, tied with Bangladesh's Taskin Ahmed and Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani. In the first Test match against New Zealand, Siraj took two wickets and scored four runs across the two innings, which is a far cry from the bowler who used to spearhead India's pace attack.
