Sarfaraz Khan has received the fourth big good news within a week. Sarfaraz, who celebrated his first international century on October 19, shared the joy of becoming a father with the whole world on October 21. On 22 October 2024, he celebrated his 27th birthday. And, now he has got the fourth good news. Sarfaraz Khan had received this good news on 23rd October, a day before the start of the Test match against New Zealand in Pune, according to which he has left KL Rahul behind.
Now you must be wondering whether this is big news related to Sarfaraz Khan? After all, where and in which matter did he follow KL Rahul? So the answer is related to the latest test ranking of ICC. In the latest ranking of Test batsmen, Sarfaraz, who has played only 4 Test matches so far, is ahead of KL Rahul. He has left them behind by taking a long leap.
Before the start of the Test series against New Zealand, KL Rahul's Test ranking was 49. Sarfaraz Khan was far behind him at 84th position. But, as soon as the first test match ended in Bengaluru, the tables turned. Now before the Pune Test, Sarfaraz has made a huge jump of 21 places and has reached 53rd position. Whereas KL Rahul has slipped 10 places to 59th position.
It is clear that after playing an innings of 150 runs in the first test against New Zealand, ICC has also recognized the talent of Sarfaraz Khan. Whereas KL Rahul has had to suffer the consequences of his failure to play big innings in both the innings. As far as the question of including both of them in the playing eleven of Team India or playing either of them is concerned, it is for the team management to decide.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has the best ICC Test ranking among the Indian batsmen playing against New Zealand, who remains at number 4 position. Whereas Kohli has slipped from 7th to 8th position. There is also a jump in the ranking of Rishabh Pant who has moved from number 9 to number 6. Captain Rohit Sharma has also slipped two places from 13th to 15th.
