Bangladesh has made one change to their squad for the second Test against South Africa with pacer Syed Khaled Ahmed coming in as replacement for Taskin Ahmed, who has been rested due to workload management.
Taskin did not feature in the first Test as Najumul Hossain Shanto's side used only one pacer in the series opening loss to the Proreas last week. Hasan Mahmud was the lone pacer in the 7-wicket defeat to South Africa in Mirpur. Mahmud finished with figures of 3 for 78 in the first Test, and was under-utilized in the second innings as Bangladesh looked up to their spinners.
Khaled also has been brought into the side only as cover as revealed by the member of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selection panel to CricBuzz. "Taskin is our all format cricketer and will be flying away from home for 50 days as we have ODIs against Afghanistan followed by a full-fledged series against West Indies," a member of the selection panel told Cricbuzz. "We want to have him fresh ahead of the long tour and so decided to rest him while Khaled is included so that if we need him, we can use him considering our two pacers Nahid Rana and Hasan Mahmud are fit and ready to go."
In 15 Test, Khaled has claimed 28 wickets.

The Bangla Tigers are likely to depend on their spinners as they look to bounce back and level the series when they host South Africa in the second Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from Tuesday (October 29).
