Mega auction is to be organized in November for the IPL 2025 season. Before that, all the 10 teams have to announce the names of the players retained from their respective squads of the last season and the last date for that announcement has come. The date of retention was fixed by BCCI till 31st October and this deadline is ending on Thursday. Which team will retain how many and which players will be officially known only on the evening of 31st October, but even before that the picture of retention of almost every team has become clear.

It is clear from the media reports that came out just a day before the deadline i.e. on October 30, that this time big players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and current IPL winning captain Shreyas Iyer will not be retained. Which team will retain which player?

1. Kolkata Knight Riders: The team can retain Sunil Narine, Rinku Singh, Varun Chakraborty, Ramandeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Whereas captain Shreyas Iyer, veteran all-rounder Andre Russell and the most expensive player in the history of IPL Mitchell Starc will be released.
2. Sunrisers Hyderabad: Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy will be retained. Players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Aiden Markram and Washington Sundar will be released.
3. Chennai Super Kings: MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Matisha Patirana and Shivam Dubey will be retained. Whereas players like Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Deepak Chahar will be released.
4. Mumbai Indians: Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma and Naman Dheer will be retained. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan, Tim David, Nehal Vadhera and others will be released.
5. Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal and Rajat Patidar are likely to be retained. Many high-profile players including captain Faf du Plessis, Mohammad Siraj, Glenn Maxwell are seen being released.
6. Delhi Capitals: Only Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs and Abhishek Porel are being retained. At the same time, many big and new players like captain Rishabh Pant, David Warner, Khalil Ahmed can be released.
7. Lucknow Super Giants: Nicholas Puran, Mayank Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni will be retained. At the same time, great players like captain KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Quinton de Kock will be released for auction.
8. Gujarat Titans: Captain Shubhman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudarshan, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan seem to be retained. Experienced players like Mohammed Shami, David Miller, Umesh Yadav, Kane Williamson will be released.
9. Punjab Kings: Only Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh are likely to be retained. Famous players like Arshdeep Singh, Kagiso Rabada, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingston will also be released along with everyone else while Shikhar Dhawan has retired.
10. Rajasthan Royals: Captain Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Sandeep Sharma may be retained, while the name of Dhruv Jurel is also being discussed. Rest of the players including Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Trent Boult and Ravichandran Ashwin may be released.
