For the last three years, a playoff spot has been elusive to the Delhi Capitals. In the last IPL, the Capitals ended sixth on the points table with 14 points and missed the playoff berth for.
However, the IPL mega-auction is near, and all franchises are ready with their retention lists as the deadline to announce the list is just one day away. In this time of infinite calculations and speculations on who will be retained or not, there are a few names that are being heard multiple times amongst the DC fans.

Delhi Capitals IPL Retention 2025: Top Players Fans Want to Be Retained
There are three players whose names are buzzing the most are; DC skipper Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Axar Patel and South African wicketkeeper-batter Tristan Stubbs. Besides those, there are also a few names who were almost equally popular, but many are doubtful about their retention. Here is the list of players fans want most to retained-
Rishabh Pant: Undoubtedly the most popular among the DC fans and had been crucial in last year's IPL campaign. Pant amassed 446 runs at a strike rate of 155. The left-handed batter certainly will be the first choice for retention and his recent form will also bolster his claim.
Axar Patel: The 30-year-old all-rounder has already played 150 matches in IPL. Patel's batting ability has always been an extra strength for the lower order, and with the ball in hand, he is a lethal wicket-taker. No doubt this match winner is unanimously on the retention lists of the fans.
Tristan Stubbs: The South African Youngster scored 378 runs in the last IPL. His strike rate in the IPL is astoundingly more than 173. His explosive batting style, which Delhi lacked from others (except a few), in the last IPL made him very popular among the DC fans.
Besides them, Kuldeep Yadav and Jake Fraser-McGurk are also similarly popular. However, for Kuldeep Yadav, there are debates about whether he is worth being retained for Rs. 11 Cr. as wrist spinners' bids do not go up much in the IPL auctions. On the other hand, Jake Fraser-McGurk debuted in the last IPL and played only nine matches but scored 330 runs in that short period with a strike rate of 234.04.
