Before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, two matches were to be played between India A and Australia A. Its first match has started from Diwali i.e. 31st October. The start of the Indian team was very bad. No Indian batsman could stand against the deadly bowling of Australia A fast bowler Brendan Doggett. He bowled 11 overs in which he dismissed 6 batsmen. During this period, Doggett bowled 6 maidens. India's batsmen surrendered in front of Doggett's dangerous bowling, as a result of which they were completely bundled out for just 107 runs.
