The problems of the Indian cricket team are not showing any signs of decreasing. The shameful 0-3 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the Test series has raised questions on the team's ability. Now Team India has to go on Australia tour, where it has to play a 5 test match series. In the current situation, it seems very difficult for Team India to perform strongly in this series and a bad news has further increased its difficulties. The remaining chances of Team India's star fast bowler Mohammed Shami going to Australia also seem to be coming to an end. Shami is still not fully fit and due to this he has been ruled out of the next two Ranji Trophy matches.
Team India has to leave for Australia tour next week, where the Test series will start from November 22. Even before this, Team India has suffered a huge blow. Shami, who has been out of the field for the last one year due to an ankle injury, is not yet fully fit. After the ankle surgery, he seemed to be getting fit but then the swelling in the knee created a hindrance and now it is creating problems for him. It was believed that he would make a comeback in the Ranji Trophy match starting from 6th November and prove his fitness by playing at least two matches for his team Bengal, but now this hope has also ended.
The selectors of Bengal Cricket Association announced the squad for the next two Ranji Trophy matches of the team but Shami did not get a place in it. Bengal first has to face Karnataka and then Madhya Pradesh from 13th November. Shami, who was seen practicing bowling at Chinnaswamy Stadium till a few days ago, has been ruled out of both these matches. Shami was expected to return to cricket from these two matches but now he will have to wait longer.
Team India for the Australia tour was announced only last month and Shami did not get a place in it. However, despite this, it was expected that if Shami proved his fitness by playing in these two Ranji matches, then he could be sent to Australia in the middle of the series, which would increase the strength of Team India. Now that hope is also almost gone. These were the last two matches Shami had in the Ranji Trophy season before the break, but now even those have slipped out of his hands.
