After defeating Punjab Kings at their home, Pat Cummins called Impact Player beneficial from batting point of view. He also revealed how Hyderabad bowlers defeated them by learning from Punjab's bowling. During the post match presentation, Cummins said,

“It was a cricket match. They (Punjab Kings) bowled really well in the beginning, but then we also did well to reach 182 and then defend it. The beauty of Impact Player is that you feel like you have really deep batting. We try to stay positive to take the game forward.”

Pat Cummins told the importance of bowlers

30-year-old Pat Cummins told that he learned from the performance of Punjab Kings bowlers and prepared his plan. He also said great things about the young players of his team. Cummins said,

“If you get beaten 150-160, you will lose nine out of ten matches anyway. We knew that the new ball would be a crucial time. We were quite happy (with our score). Seeing the Punjab Kings bowlers doing wonders with the new ball, we thought that if Bhuvi and I could start by taking wickets, it would be good. We have a lot of left-handed and right-handed bowlers, so we are trying to give them a good chance to be successful.”
