Boucher said that the spin duo made South Africa look like kids and out of depth in the first game of the series at Durban.
The spin duo shared 6 wickets between themselves, skittling out the hosts' middle order. Varun Chakravarthy was particularly impressive with the wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller in the 12th over of the game. The wickets took away South Africa's hopes of winning the match and forced a collapse in the second innings of the match.
Speaking on Jio Cinema after the game, Boucher credited India's win to the spinners. He said sustained pressure in the middle overs led to mistakes from the South African batters, who could not read the spin bowlers at all.
"Varun Chakravarthy has come on leaps and bounds. The way that he bowled tonight with Bishnoi, what a great partnership that the two of them had in the middle of there. Klaasen looked out of sync, to be honest, he didn't look like he was in good form at all," Boucher said about Varun Chakravarthy.
"They were never really in with a shout, always looked like something that gonna happen, something that was gonna give. I think they bowled nine balls for three runs at some stage to build up pressure. They really made it almost look like men against boys to be fair," the former South Africa keeper lauded the India spinners.
While Bishnoi and Varun took 3 wickets a piece in the second innings, South Africa spinners failed to have any impact in the game. Sanju Samson took the attack to the spinners, and cut loose early in the innings to score 107 runs. Samson's innings took India to 202/8 in 20 overs which they defended successfully later on.
