Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika's comment increased the stir - Will the Indian captain not go to Australia?

It is a matter of next few hours and Team India will leave to face its next challenge. The next station of the Indian team, which is facing embarrassment after suffering a clean sweep in the Test series against New Zealand at home, is Australia, where it has to play a 5-Test series. Before this series, there is a constant question whether captain Rohit Sharma will play in the first test match or not? Rohit is going to become a father for the second time, due to which his chances of playing in the first Test are less. Now Rohit's wife Ritika Sajdeh has made such a comment on an online post, which is indicating that the captain may not go to Australia with the team.

Border-Gavaskar Trophy is going to start in Australia from 22nd November, for which Team India will leave in two different groups on 10th and 11th November. The first Test of the series is to be played in Perth and there is doubt about Rohit's play in it. After Team India's defeat in the last Test match against New Zealand in Mumbai, Rohit had told in the press conference that he did not know for sure whether he would be able to play the first Test or not.

Ritika commented

Former Australian opener Aaron Finch supported the Indian captain regarding the possibility of Rohit not being able to play in the first Test due to the birth of a child. He said during a TV show that at such a time it is very important to be with the family. Now Rohit's wife Ritika has given her reaction on this statement of Finch. A journalist posted this statement of Finch on Instagram, on which Ritika commented and saluted Finch for his statement. Ritika posted a 'salute' emoji in the comment and tagged Finch.

Gavaskar had demanded

Actually, this statement of Finch came in response to a comment of former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar. On the possibility of Rohit being out of the first Test, Gavaskar had said in an interview that in such a situation, Team India should appoint a different captain. Gavaskar had said that after losing the series 3-0, it would have been better if the captain remained with the team from the first Test. Gavaskar was heavily criticized for this statement and even former Australian captain Finch did not consider it correct.

This comment of Ritika has now become quite viral and it is being seen as an indication that Rohit may sit out of the first Test match. However, on Saturday, November 9 itself, some reports have claimed that Rohit has told the selectors that he is available to go to Australia with the team. However, even after this it is not clear whether he will be able to play the first test after reaching Australia or not.
