You must have seen many batsmen who hit centuries. You must have seen people who scored centuries in every country. But, have you ever seen such a batsman, who has written the script of each of his centuries in one country? At least the story of his T20 International career is like this. All the centuries that batsman has scored so far in T20 International have been scored in one country and against the same team. The big thing is that he is the first batsman in the world to make this interesting record, whose name is Phil Salt.
Phil Salt scored a brilliant century in the second T20 against West Indies. He played an unbeaten inning of 103 runs, which included 6 sixes, this was the third century of his T20 International career. Also, this was the third century scored in West Indies and against West Indies.
Phil Salt's T20 career is of 34 matches. But, in this he has played 10 matches against West Indies on their own ground and in them he has scored 581 runs at an average of 83, which includes all three centuries of his T20 International career. The big thing is that he has scored all these three centuries in the last 5 innings played against West Indies.
The attempt to score a T20 century against the West Indies on their own soil started from 16 December 2023. After this, Salt scored his second T20 International century on 19 December 2023 and now he scored his third century on 9 November 2024. That is, within a year, he has introduced the world to his three T20 International centuries.
When Phil Salt was asked about this after the second T20 International, he said that he likes batting in West Indies. Anyway, Phil Salt, born in Wales, spent his childhood in the West Indies. He learned the tricks of cricket there and grew up playing cricket there. This could be a big reason for him liking the pitches of West Indies.
