The dispute between India and Pakistan regarding participation in the Champions Trophy has now become very serious. After the Indian team's refusal to go to Pakistan for this tournament to be held in February-March, now Pakistan is also adopting a stubborn stance but in this effort it also seems to be making a big mistake. The important thing is that the Pakistani board is also taking legal advice in this matter and in this it is considering appealing to the ICC's Dispute Resolution Committee i.e. DRC. But this is a bet that has backfired on him once before and may prove costly again. (Photo: PCB)
Now ICC has informed Pakistani Board PCB about this decision of BCCI, after which PCB has rejected the demand of hybrid model and taken advice from Pakistan Government. It is believed that the Pakistani government has asked the PCB to stick to its decision. (Photo- AFP/PTI)
In fact, the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI had told the ICC that keeping the security in mind, the Government of India has refused to send Team India to Pakistan to play in the Champions Trophy. In such a situation, there has been a demand to organize Team India's matches outside Pakistan. (Photo-AFP)
About six and a half years ago, in 2018, PCB had filed a complaint against BCCI with the same DRC, demanding damages of $65 million. PCB alleged that BCCI broke the bilateral agreement by not sending Team India to Pakistan for the series. DRC had rejected this case and on the contrary PCB had given about 2 million dollars to BCCI as compensation. (Photo- Alex Davidson-ICC/ICC via Getty Images)
