Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir held a press conference in Mumbai before leaving for Australia. In this press conference, he mentioned 10 big things, in which two things were also related to Test team captain Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah. Not only this, Gambhir also answered the question asked on the recent form of Rohit and Virat with equal seriousness. Apart from this, Gambhir also talked about the opening options.
Let's take a look at the 10 big things that Gautam Gambhir mentioned in the press conference regarding India's tour to Australia.
The first question to Gautam Gambhir was on Rohit's availability, in response to which he said that accurate information about this can be received before the start of the Test series. However, he did not deny that Rohit may miss the match.
Gautam Gambhir also talked about the opening options. When he was asked who would open in Rohit's absence? So he counted the names of Abhimanyu Easwaran, KL Rahul as the first two options. Apart from this it was also said that there are other options in the team.
When asked whether Shubhman Gill could be sent higher in the batting order, Gambhir said that I cannot tell you the playing eleven right now. That will depend on the conditions. Players will be selected in the team only considering the conditions.
Gambhir said that the current form of Rohit-Virat is not a matter of concern. According to him, both those players have a lot of experience. The biggest thing is that he still shows hunger for runs, for which he is working hard.
Rohit Sharma is the captain of Team India's Test team. But if he misses the match on Australia tour, then vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah will take charge of the team in his place.
