India’s top all-rounder and captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), Hardik Pandya, is going through a difficult period in his personal and professional life. In the current IPL 2024, Hardik has been having trouble performing both as a player and as the captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI).
It appears that things are not going well personally these days, either. The fraud and financial misconduct accusations involving the MI skipper and his brother, Krunal Pandya, have led to the arrest of Vaibhav Pandya, Hardik’s cousin.
Hardik Pandya, Krunal, and Vaibhav own a polymer business through their partnership firm. Hardik and Krunal hold a 40% stake each, while Vaibhav owns the remaining 20%. However, the eldest cousin, Vaibhav, has now been arrested on charges of cheating and forgery related to the firm.
Vaibhav, who is older than Hardik, is accused of embezzlement and improperly handling a substantial amount of 4.3 crore. He was reportedly arrested on these severe charges after Hardik and Krunal complained about him.
The three started a polymer company in 2021. However, Vaibhav then launched a similar business. He failed to notify Hardik and Krunal of this, so he was arrested for money laundering and contract violations.
Hardik Pandya’s tough outing in IPL 2024
Before the IPL 2024, Hardik Pandya rejoined the Mumbai Indians. He was named the team’s captain this time, replacing Rohit Sharma. Pandya was subjected to a lot of jeering during the MI’s tournament matches for taking over Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.
However, things did not turn out as planned for the Mumbai Indians. The five-time champion got off to a rough start, losing three in a row before winning against DC.
MI will clash against RCB on April 11th at the Wankhede Stadium.
