Lucknow: On 10 April, the match was played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. In this match, Rajasthan had to face defeat by 3 wickets and this was their first defeat of the season. This match was very exciting but Gujarat's star all-rounder Rashid Khan led his team to victory by hitting a four on the last ball. However, after the defeat of RR, former Australian player Tom Moody has raised questions on the captaincy of Sanju Samson and told that due to which mistake he had to face defeat in the match.
Batting first in this match, Rajasthan had made a huge score of 196 runs but GT's batsmen achieved it and registered their third win of the season. Captain Sanju and young batsman Riyan Parag played half-centuries for RR but still their team had to face defeat. In this match, Samson made experienced fast bowler Trent Boult bowl only two overs and perhaps this was his biggest mistake. On this issue, during a conversation with ESPN Cricinfo, Moody criticized Sanju.

He said, “Sanju Samson should have used Trent Boult in the last overs. He has bowled in the death overs before and has a lot of experience. When it comes to pressure, Bolt can handle it well because he is used to it. However, his overs were not completed and Sanju went ahead of him. In such a situation, Trent's remaining overs had no meaning.”
Moody further said that “If you look at the bowling unit of Rajasthan, Boult is the most experienced there. Death Over may or may not be his strength but you should have gone with him. Boult could have bowled the 15th and 17th overs because these are not death overs, you can call them middle overs. However, I believe that if any of your experienced bowlers have two overs left, then you should go with them.”

Let us tell you that in this match, the left arm fast bowler bowled only two overs and during this he gave 8 runs. However, he did not get any success and after this captain Sanju did not make Boult bowl. He remained with Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Sen in the last overs but GT won the match and with its third win of the season, has reached sixth place in the points table.
