Virat Kohli will have a chance to achieve a new record in every match against Australia. He scored a hundred in the second innings of the first red-ball game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 to take his ton count to seven Down Under. He amassed an unbeaten 100 runs off 143 balls, laced with 8 fours and 2 sixes, as India won the match by 295 to take a lead of 1-0 in the five-Test series.

It was Kohli’s 30th century in the longest format of the game and 81st overall in international cricket. He needs three more hundreds in the remaining four matches to become the first visiting batter to accumulate 10 centuries in Australia.
