The sour relations between India and Pakistan are continuously affecting cricket. The conflict continues between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the ICC Champions Trophy, for which Team India has been refused to send to Pakistan. In such a situation, while the cricket boards of both the countries are adamant on their demands regarding the Champions Trophy, a big decision has been taken regarding a big cricket tournament. Blind Cricket World Cup will not be organized in India and Pakistan for many years to come.
According to the report of Pakistani media, the World Blind Cricket Council decided on Monday 2 December that no blind cricket event will be organized in India and Pakistan. This decision has been taken in view of the tension between the two countries and its impact. The Council has made it clear in its decision that unless the political relations between the two countries improve. However, wherever tournaments are held, the two teams will continue to clash with each other.
This decision has come at a time when recently India's blind cricket team was not allowed to go to Pakistan for the T20 World Cup. The Blind T20 World Cup started in Pakistan at the end of November. For this, Team India had to go to Pakistan and it had also got approval from the Sports Ministry, but it was not allowed to go to Pakistan from the Home Ministry and in such a situation the team could not be a part of the World Cup this time.
This big decision has come at the time of the ongoing controversy regarding the Champions Trophy. In such a situation, the question is arising whether the International Cricket Council can also take such a step? Citing security, the Indian government did not allow the team to go to Pakistan for this tournament to be hosted by Pakistan in February-March 2025. In such a situation, BCCI demanded to organize the tournament on hybrid model, under which Team India's matches including a semi-final and final will be played in Dubai. Although PCB has been continuously opposing this, but due to pressure from ICC, it now seems to be agreeing to this demand. However, she is demanding to apply the same formula to the tournaments held in India also.
