Harbhajan Singh said he feels sad for the people of Pakistan because they won’t be able to see legendary Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma playing on their home soil in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has refused to send the team after not getting clearance from the Indian government, citing safety issues.
“The situation in Pakistan is not good. Every team is ready to play in that part of the world, but the problem is the situation over there. I am feeling sad for the people of Pakistan because they will not be able to see Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batting on their soil.
“You can’t stop the tournament and a hybrid model is the only way forward. It is impossible for the Indian players to play in Pakistan because you cannot trust their security arrangements,” Harbhajan Singh told Sports Tak.
India traveled to Pakistan during the 2008 Asia Cup, while the Men in Green played in the neighboring country in a bilateral series in 2012-13.
The ICC has told the Pakistan Cricket Board to accept a hybrid model. If they refuse, the global tournament will be played in a different country.
