'Age is just a number'… 'That is, age is just a number but it is not everything'. This line is often used in the world of sports. Through this, emphasis is laid on giving importance to the ability of a player rather than his increasing age. Still, if we talk about a sport like cricket, questions are often raised about the ability of the players as their age increases. But there is also a 40 year old player who is as agile as a leopard on the field and takes even the most difficult catches. The 40-year-old Cheetah we are talking about here is Faf Du Plessis, who again took a shocking catch.
South Africa's legendary batsman Du Plessis, who has proved his fielding prowess in various T20 leagues across the world, including international cricket and the Indian Premier League, once again showed his magic. The former South African captain took such a catch by running backwards in a T10 league match played in Abu Dhabi, which is difficult to believe. Especially at the age of 40, that too from a player who is away from international cricket and is seen only occasionally in T20 or T10 leagues.
Still Faf Duplessis is different from everyone. Many young players pale in comparison to his fitness and there are very few like him in fielding. This new miracle of Du Plessis, who often takes shocking catches in IPL, was seen on Monday 1st December. Du Plessis, playing for Morrisville Samp Army in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, took this catch of Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan of Delhi Bulls in the second qualifier match. Shadab played a shot in the air towards the covers, where the deployed Du Plessis ran back a few steps and then diving back in the same direction, surprised everyone by taking a catch with one hand. Seeing his catch, all the players ran towards Duplessis.

Duplessis's team won the qualifier match and made it to the finals, but in the finals, Duplessis himself was out on an incredible catch. In the final against Deccan Gladiators, Du Plessis scored 34 runs in 23 balls and then was out at the deep midwicket boundary. Jos Buttler ran and took this catch by taking a long dive very close to the boundary line. Morrisville scored only 104 runs and Deccan scored 110 runs in 7 overs and won the match along with the title.
Jaw-dropping brilliance by Jos Buttler
An absolute stunner to dismiss the dangerous Faf du Plessis!
